Brian Hermiston
FORMER OWNER - FENESTRA PURCHASING CO-OPERATIVE
Recently retired, Brian has spent his long time career somehow connected with buying groups and purchasing co-operatives. His first 30 years were as a buying group member, owning and operating a retail building supply yard. In 2001 he was employed with AWARD - now Timbermart, primarily working on the implementation of EDI. In subsequent years he has been employed with BMR a Quebec-based group, as the Atlantic Manager.
In 2009 formed a partnership in Buying Group Services- specializing in starting and managing buying groups.
In 2011 launched the Fenestra Purchasing Co-operative. Fenestra represents 46 window and door manufacturers from across Canada. Fenestra purchases exceed $100m and its members represent nearly 40% in specific sectors of the Canadian marketplace.
Since 2019 he has mentored and advised with other groups in a wide variety of sectors- these include the Car Wash sector in the US, Promotional products in US and Canada and most recently with LBMX on various projects.
Brian has a unique perspective, having been a member, a manager of existing groups and responsible for the successful launch of a new group.
His home is in the beautiful Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, he enjoys his yard, his 2001 Audi Roadster, good single malt, family and friends.
