MARK BILFIELD
Self Storage Consultant
Mark Bilfield is an independent consultant with over 30 years experience managing the marketing and advertising programs for many “Forbes 500” organizations as well as counseling start-ups to identify and strategically prioritize their marketing initiatives.
From 2005-2009, Mark held the position of SVP, Chief Marketing Officer at Public Storage and was one of the executive participants of the $5.5B acquisition of Shurgard self storage. Since 2009, Mark has consulted with Extra Space, U-Store It, Storage Treasures, Storelocal, American Auctioneers, automotive marketers, AdTech, and philanthropic clients.
Much of his experience was at worldwide ad agencies with responsibilities for a diverse group of clients including:
Nissan US & Global account for 11 years while at TBWA/Chiat Day as Senior Partner, Group Director
US Toyota Motor Sales account for six years while at Saatchi & Saatchi as Director of Integrated Marketing
Additional brand experience includes: P&G, BMW, Canon, Fuji, Nikon, Upper Deck Trading Cards, Toshiba Computers, Mitsubishi Electronics, Uniden, Government of Taiwan, Australian Tourist Commission, Pizza Hut as well as building promotional partnerships with the Olympics in 1976, 1984 and 1996.
Mark has also contributed to the professional and local community as: President/Chairman of the LA Ad Agency Association, Chairman of the 4A’s Interactive Committee, Board Member Japan America Society-LA, Board Member of Operation HOPE, strategic counsel for Kure-it and JVS-SoCal.
In his free time, Mark is an avid bike rider and participates in the annual Great Cycle Challenge to raise funds for Children’s Cancer Research.
